What is this man doing to the beautiful city of New York?
As a native New Yorker, I'm appalled at the things the so-called Mayor finds important. Defacing national landmarks with advertisements?? No smoking in bars and bartenders being fined for cigarette butts OUTSIDE their establishment? He's taking away one of the only places a New Yorker can go to kick back and relax with a beer and a smoke. There isn't enough money in the budget to keep FIVE Brooklyn fire stations open, but there's enough money for him to send his staff out to check up on bars.
New Yorkers are being ticketed for things they didn't even know were illegal. They are spending their hard earned money on things that are so minuscule. Sitting on a milk crate in front of your house is illegal. Doesn't he have more important things to focus his attention on? He wants to ensure the safety of the people but is willing to sacrifice precious fire house response time to cut a few corners.
I do not feel that he should be in office. I do not think that we will better by him being Mayor. For anyone who feels the same way, it is important that you state your opinion. Everyone has the right to be heard, after all, we are the ones who live here.
Every statement counts. Maybe together, we can make a difference.
E-mail me your thoughts. I'd love to hear them.
